Chronic Pain and Work: The Real Costs

Chronic pain has real and tangible effects on this country’s workforce. From disability leave and doctor’s appointments to reduced productivity, chronic pain costs employers billions. But the psychological changes that accompany an inability to work – or even just a reduced capacity for work – are equally, if not more, concerning. Only with a multimodal treatment plan can chronic pain sufferers start to reclaim what they’ve lost – and start to accept the changes that life has brought.
